Disaster Management

The Institute for Building Technology and Safety (IBTS) is a group of building industry professionals that has been providing construction plan review, building inspection and education/training services to public and private sector clients for over 30 years. As a government-founded "not-for-profit" corporation, IBTS combines governmental credibility with private sector efficiency.

IBTS has a staff of FEMA trained professionals who have experience in providing a full range of services to local and state agencies, including emergency management, disaster response and recovery, and hazard mitigation. These services have included planning, training, response, recovery, project formulation, project management, project monitoring, audit, closeout and pre/post disaster hazard mitigation projects. Since 1990, The IBTS Disaster Management Team has developed its experience on over 35 federally declared disasters throughout the United States, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, thirteen of which were in Louisiana.

IBTS can respond immediately to assist in the initial critical hours of any catastrophic event with a team made up of specialists tailored to meet your specific requirements and needs. Our follow-up teams are available for continuing involvement to assist in the assessment of preliminary damages as part of your team along with State and Federal officials. After an event has been declared a Federal Disaster and grants for repair and reconstruction and hazard mitigation projects are available, IBTS can provide qualified staff to formulate projects, scope work, estimate damages and provide competent project management and monitoring. IBTS will meet or exceed all FEMA and state requirements, ensuring that projects are completed in accordance with the schedules and cost parameters imposed by grants received.
